SIGN LANGUAGE FOR SCHOOLS©

Teach your class some Auslan signs!

How can an elephant teach you and

 your class 50 Auslan signs?

After all, an elephant doesn't even have fingers...

The children in your class will learn to sign as they sing a song about an elephant that is loose in the school. It's just like learning the actions to a song. If you do not wish to learn the song, the signs can be learnt as a part of a story. There's a picture book (containing signs) to print and a slideshow that can be viewed on a computer or overhead projector.

The package contains a song to learn, a book of 50 Auslan signs to print, colour picturebook to print, a slideshow, stickers, flashcards and more!

You'll learn all these signsteacher - bin - car- outside - inside - lunch - eat - jump - learn - read - write - book - computer - look - see - library - slide - see saw - sit - chair - me - you - where - under - table - fish - smelly - jump - hide - there - bag - home - hear - noise - not - no - elephant - children - what - quick -

WHY LEARN SIGN LANGUAGE?

Here are just three reasons:

1. Some teachers find that supplementing their speech with simple sign language increases their students' attention to instructions and directions.

2. Some schools have children included in their classes who use key word signing for communication. This package allows students to learn a basic  set of signs so they can understand and communicate with the child who signs.

3. Sign Language is a wonderful language. Learning sign language at school creates an interest in language and gets children thinking about people in their community who sign... it's not just deaf people!
