Frequently Asked Questions

How do I order resources? To order Pelican Talk or Love and Reilly products, it is best to order via the online store here on the website. Purchase orders are also accepted from schools and services but a processing fee of $5.50 is charged. You can also download an order form and email as an attachment.

If you are after puppets, you will find some in the Pelican Talk store, however we also have a dedicated e-store that sells puppets selected to enhance learning. See Puppets for Learning.

Is postage and handling charged? Many resources from Pelican Talk are posted free.  This is because they come on a USB flashdrive which is relatively cheap to post.

Other resources are charged a flat rate of $12.50.

Purchase orders attract a fee of $5.50.

Puppets from Puppets for Learning are charged at different rates according to size.

How long will my order take to arrive?  Packages are usually posted the next day after an order is placed. They are sent through regular Australia Post and this can take up to two weeks (sorry).  If you are desperate to receive your order, please contact us.  We may be able to organise Express Post for a small fee. (We are based in rural Victoria so even Express Post takes two days).

Where's my Tax Invoice? If you order online, your tax invoice will be made available after you've placed the order. Make sure you click the small tab at the bottom, download it and save it.  You will also receive an email when you've placed an order. This can be printed off and used for tax purposes.

If you ordered via purchase order or order form, a tax invoice will be emailed to you. This can be used for tax purposes after you have paid it. You don't need another invoice that states it is PAID.

I ordered three resources and only received one flashdrive! Why?   As stated on the website, resources are sometimes combined on to the same flashdrive.  You are still receiving all of the goodies.

Can I save the data from the USB flashdrive to my computer?   Yes you can. In fact, it is recommended as a back-up in case your USB stick becomes damaged.

What about copyright?  Pelican Talk is registered with Copyright Agency (Australia). Copyright Agency performs regular audits each year. The purchaser is the registered licensee and must uphold copyright conditions.  The license number for your good is the same as your invoice or purchase order number and is supplied on a card with your order. It is important to keep this.

The licensee may use the resources for direct clinical and teaching purposes. They may not make a copy and give to anyone who does not work within the same workplace and who is not located at the same geographical place of work.

If the licensee is a service or school, the data may be downloaded on up to three computers in the one geographical location. This is the case for all digital resources.

If Social Sam or Alien Talk is being used by a whole school, it may be uploaded to an internal server but a SCHOOL LICENSE must be purchased and held by the school. This option is available at checkout in the online store.
